Dede Eri Supria is an influential propagator of super-realist southeast asian art in Indonesia. He was born in Jakarta on January 29, 1956. He studied at the Indonesian Fine Art Academy (ASRI) in Yogyakarta, graduating in 1974. In 1976 he first emerged onto the Indonesian Art Scene when he exhibited his work at the first Seni Rupa Baru Indonesia exhibition at the Balai Budaya in Jakarta.
He has been recognized many times for his work, notably at the Philip Morris Indonesian Art Awards and the ASEAN Art Awards. He was also featured at the Jakarta Biennale in 1981. He has participated in many group shows as well as solo exhibitions, including shows at Jakarta Stock Exchange (1997) and at the Art Folio Space in Singapore (2002).
