Born in a small town outside of Jakarta, Daniel Timbul is fast becoming one of the most original southeast asian artists to come out of the contemporary Indonesian Art movement.  Described as an a "folk painter", he uses a woodblock technique to create small and large scale works inspired by American and European folk tales.
